Fourth and Fifth Graders Introduced to Graphic Design
In support of area public school PS217, a magnet school, Stislow Design's John and Stephanie Stislow will teach a weekly one-hour magent club class about the fundamentals of graphic design. The class of approximately 25 fourth and fifth graders, will be a collaboration on a series of graphic design exercises toward executing a few key projects (an alphabet book and a theatrical event poster). Introducing Beauty Beyond Nature (the book)

Stislow Design completes a collaboration of art, writing, photography, design, and printing of a museum quality book about the detailed art glass work of Paul Stankard. The production of the book is featured in a documentary about the artist.

Stislow Design joins the November design panel with 1,800 member NYC Web Design Meet Up organized by Jaron Rubenstein (Rubenstein Technology Group) and sponsored by AOL Ventures. The discussion focuses around a Web site design or concept and is reviewed by the 3 design panelists for design and user-experience issues.

The Earth Institute Website Recieves A 2008 Webby Award
The redesign of The Earth Institute website receives a 2008 Webby Award in the education category.
In collaboration with the Communications team at the Earth Institute, John Stislow redesigned the homepage to capture new users and navigate them more quickly to hot topics. The goal was to increase the length of time and average page count of user visits, as well as design a homepage with maximum modularity and ease of updating.
